About the Role
1. Join Acron Aviation as a Software Engineering Intern in the Avionics – Displays / Legacy Engineering team.
2. Support the generation and maintenance of databases used in avionics products.
3. Work with avionics database generation tools, source data preparation, troubleshooting, and process automation.
4. Help ensure monthly databases are generated accurately and delivered according to established schedules.
5. Gain practical experience in software tools, testing, technical documentation, and aviation-related engineering processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and follow the established monthly avionics database generation process.
- Retrieve and prepare source data, including Jeppesen avionics data.
- Review and adjust source data for successful processing.
- Run database generation tools through the designated development environment.
- Review generated outputs and deliver completed databases to the Displays team on schedule.
- Document issues encountered during database generation.
- Maintain accurate process documentation.
- Learn and support software tools used for avionics database generation.
- Assist with troubleshooting, maintenance, and improvements to database generation tools.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes.
- Support Displays software development and testing activities.
- Document processes and tools to support future DO-200 compliance activities.
Eligibility & Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Avionics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Basic programming knowledge in C, C++, Python, or similar languages.
- Interest in software development, automation, avionics, or database technologies.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented technical processes.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to document technical processes clearly.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
